On My Law Firm Profile

I don’t think you can say you’ve become an official member of the firm until you have your profile posted on the firm’s website.  Alas, I am now, officially, an Associate with the firm of Shearman & Sterling.

I feel rather accomplished because many of my colleagues have not had this honor bestowed upon them yet; although they passed the bar, they haven’t been admitted yet.   Of course, the only “accomplishment” that distinguishes me from my fellow first years is that I avoided the stress of a firm job by doing a clerkship for one year.

The profile, though, is so bare bones.  Check this one out from DLA Piper with pictures and narrative personal experience.

If you scroll through attorney profiles on www.shearman.com, it appears only Partners and Of Counsel receives similar treatment.  Just another reason to aspire to that level.

On a sidenote, the Eric O’Neill of DLA Piper is the guy Ryan Phillipe played in “Breach,” the movie about an FBI agent who betrayed the U.S. for over 20 years.
